• All 9th grade band students sign up for Symphonic Band. 

 

• ALL NEW MEMBERS NEED TO COMPLETE THE NEW MEMBER GOOGLE FORM! 

  • On this form you will be providing your most up to date contact information for members & guardians. 

  • Express your interest in signing up for jazz band (more info about jazz below)

  • Express your interest in signing up for marching band
     

• What does band cost? Band Fees

 

• Marching Band Sign Ups: Marching Band sign ups are available now! You sign up for the marching band by using our online registration form. While you may express interest in joining the marching band on the new member form, ALL members that want to participate in the Sheldon Marching Band & Color Guard (all grades & all sections) need to register using the
  2024 Marching Band Registration form. 

 

• Color Guard only members do NOT sign up for class during the school day. But you do need to register for marching band by completing the 2024 Marching Band Registration form.

• Color Guard and Marching Band Percussion members need to attend “Spring Training” for your sections. If you can not attend you need to reach directly out to Ms. Bounds to put you in touch with our staff for these sections. We have placement auditions for these sections so it’s VERY important that you attend these sessions to participate. See the attached info flyers for more information

 

• Got Jazz? The Sheldon Jazz Bands are open to ANY band members. You do have to be signed up for SYMPHONIC BAND during the school day (you can not take jazz band as your only class). 

 

• Jazz Band is zero period BUT you have to be signed up for SYMPHONIC BAND during the school day. You can sign up for Jazz Band through our  NEW MEMBER GOOGLE FORM AND ON YOUR FORECASTING FORM. 

 

• IHS/SI & Band-it’s possible to do both but it isn’t easy. I (Ms. Bounds) continue to advocate for access to your classes & the ability to take a band class. Full IB is the hardest to make work for band participation. The more students that we have in band that are in IHS the easier it is to make your schedules work! It’s important that your students sign up for SYMPHONIC BAND and that we work together to ensure that their schedule is designed to support participation in both. 

 

• Sports & Band-We work with every student and their coaches/athletic director to ensure that they can participate in both activities. For students who participate in marching band and another fall sport you are considered a “dual sport athlete” for the season. Winter and Spring sports rarely affect band participation.
